The issue these days is most stuff made is crap. 
For example, a standard old healey brake drum weighs 7.1 Kgs. 
The "Alfin" replacement from AH Spares weighs 7 Kg!!!!!!!
How do you make an aluminium brake drum that weighs almost the same as a cast 
iron one??
And just to add insult to injury, Denis Welch sells a drum with 5 large slots 
in the outside face. Sounds lighter? Nah - over 9 kg!!!!
So based on my recent research, I'd be looking for good second hand drums!
