Given the recent testimonials to FIAT reliability etc. . . I'm thinking
there must be something in the air of eastern Carolina that adversely
affects FIATs, as around here they've always had a reputation of being
mechanically unsound -- and they rust away faster than any cars ever known.
And I say this without any real bias, as I've always coveted a 70ish 124
coupe as being one of the nicest looking inexpensive cars ever built.
Mechanics used to joke that FIAT stood for Fix It Again Tony. And that weird
positioning of the steering wheel. . .
