Your subject line sort of threw me off there. I almost deleted the message
along with all the other porn spam I get every day.

I think the original use of the term  "shaving" involves bumpers - you weld
in all the bumper bolts, then grind off the heads for a totally smooth
bumper (after re-plating of course). This has evolved into a general term
meaning removal of door handles, emblems etc. We used to call that nosing
and decking.

I wouldn't use that in a subject line either, come to think of it....
