Before you bead blast the sheatmetal look into plastic media blasting. In
industrial terms, bead blasting means shot peening, it hardens the surface of
the metal, on sheetmetal parts bead blasting can cause brittleness and reduce
the flexibility of the metal, this can result in the formation of stress
related cracks that can destroy an otherwise perfect and rare or
nonreplaceable part. I have had one vehicle done with the plastic media and
the results were very good. The cost may be a little more but the results are
worth it.
