You still have to bleed often to avoid a buildup of moisture anywhere
(especially in the hoses) in the system. I had 2 hoses fail at different
times due to a buildup of moisture and subsequent rust-through of the line.
Dot 5 wont absorb water so it just pools up in spots!

Hi all,

Getting ready to redo all the brakes on my 54 3100. I have all new parts,
including cylinders and new stainless lines on the way. All I have a
question.

Could you give me your opinion on DOT 5 Brake Fluid? I remember Bob Adler
mentioning it about a year ago, but don't recall, or have a copy of the mail
that includes his most valued opinion. Are you guys using it? Do you like
it? Is there any downside??

All The Best!
