I used a similar kit from GSPP quite a few years ago on my 56 TF. Plan
exactly what your steps are going to be and have all the tools necessary.
When I put one of these bearing adapters on (I heated it - it would not go
on any other way - but it still required a small sledge and a large socket
to pound against) I let it cool too much during the process of putting it on
the spindle. consequently it got stuck about a 1/4" short of where it
needed to seat. I ended up cutting the adapter off (very carefully with a
hack saw blade) and had to have a local machinist make another one for me.
On the other spindle, I was prepared and did not have any problems. As
suggested, it might be wise to have the spindle OD and adapter ID checked
and one or the other adjusted before installation. It could save you many
hours of headaches.
