First, make sure all bolts have been removed from the damper.  Attach gear
puller to the inner area of the damper, NOT OUT SIDE THE RUBBER RING.  Apply
a fair amount of tension to the gear puller.  Lightly tap the damper front
side with a ballpean hammer.  The tension tries to pull it off and the
hammer tries to tap it on.  Always work from the inner part of the damper.
My grandson just replaced one on our 64 el camino because he pulled from the
outer edges and over stressed the rubber ring.
