I am goin' to the yard this weekend to look for some stuff.
I want to find a rear end for my '53 1/2 ton.
I did find a site where someone had a list of possible donors, but I can't
find that place again :( I have some qestions.
1: Is there a list of possible donors? If not, I will make one and put
it up on my site.
2: I measured 54" from back of backing plate to back of backing plate,
does this sound right? I think 53 - 55 inches should be ok, any opinions?
3: I have car hubs on mine (they are 5-lug, that is car right?) What is
the bolt pattern, I guess this isn't so important, I could just get a
piece of card board and punch the bolts through...(anyone know direct
replacements).
4: Is there a source that will help me find rear end ratios? Maybe
somewhere that lists codes on the pumpkins? Or will any car ratio
generally work. I am looking to do some hw miles with this truck. I will
also put in a car AT.
