I think I would go toward the spray in type also.

I never though liners were necessary - I can live with the scratches 
in the bed of a truck until I moved to a humid climate.  Everything
around here rusts if unprotected, so I decided on a liner for my truck.

I bought a slip in type, and although it works fine, some dirt finds it's
way under the liner.  The result is that the paint gets rubbed away,
which kind of defeats the purpose of the liner in the first place.

For what it's worth, WalMart is selling a kit to "paint" the lining on 
yourself.  I was wondering how good this is, and you can always 
touch it up if need be, since you will have the can left over...
