Fellow List Members...

I'm finally nearing completion of my motor rebuild, I'm really looking
forward to driving my Spitfire. (Never have.... bought it with a blown
engine, it was a project car)

I dropped the newly rebuilt engine into the car Thursday night, but
now I'm struggling a little with re-installation of all the
accessories. (The car was a basket case, with most of parts removed
prior to when I came along and purchased it) ... while most of the
parts were in the trunk, every once in a while I can't find missing
pieces... and that is a pain in the butt.

Such is the case now: my spitfire is a '77 and I'm trying to install
the cooling system. The radiator connects to three hoses (of
substantial length) and has a sensor in the top but NO cap. The cap is
in a housing unit which attaches to the water pump. The radiator also
has a large electric fan, which I installed (engine side) and a shroud
(which I installed front side). As best I can tell from my part
catalogs I think I've got the '79-'80 radiator setup, instead of the
'71-78 like I would expect.

In order to space out correctly (fit under the hood and keep the fan
from hitting the engine) it appears to reason that the radiator should
"tilt" forward. Yet I can find no mounting hardware in the included
parts with the car. All I see is two "mounts" rising up off the front
frame. Although it fits, If I install the radiator directly on these
mounts (going straight up) the radiator is "smooshed" up close to the
engine, with insufficient space for the fan. (I don't think the hood
will close either, especially with the shroud).

What's up? Am I missing mounting hardware?

It also appears the shroud has two holes up front for connecting to
something like a bracket... yet I have nothing for it also.

Sometimes I sure wish I had another spitfire around here to look at...
With no work experience on a spit, and the fact I got the car in
pieces, it sure makes it challenging to "put the puzzle together".

Any help, as always, is much appreciated.
