And the seats have only a few threads of the hounds tooth left!  (pretty mangy
hound!)

If I chose a contrasting color, I will definitely need my wife's help.  In
order to keep me from offending the sensibilities of those around me, she has
to pick out the clothes I wear!!!

Seriously, a contrasting color or different 'tone' serves to break up the
high awkward look of any top. (eg, a darker burgundy top over a red car)

Hey! Why don't you cover the top in Houndstooth fabric to match the seats?
