On one of my old convertibles, ('64 Corvair to be precise), the back
window was in pretty sad shape. I figured that I had nothing to loose
except to put in a new window. I tried J-Wax Kit. Worked a dream.
The polishing compund part of it eliminated the scratches, and the
wax filled everything in. Over the next couple of years that I had
that car, I put Kit on it every couple of months.
You need some sort of mild abrasive to cut through the brown stuff,
and then a wax to seal it.
