ever since i lost the engine in my 67 mk 3, yrs ago to a similliar problem..
I keep a constant eye on my temp and oil gauges
i have tested the running temp of my car, and i know my temp gauge reads
high,
but every time it gets up to the hot, i get worried anyway
anyways...if you can figure out a place to install it, you could use one of
those
idiot light type thermal sensors. and hook it up - with or without a
relay,
  to a buzzer

  Paul fontana ca

ps--its noisy outside, with all that racing going on down the street..
