Hi Richard
I am not a Spit owner so cannot comment on the bracket on the gearbox on
those, but it was a standard fitment on UK Dolomite 1500's (and 1300's), the
idea of it is to stop the stresses and movement generated in the system from
reaching the manifold joint.
