Hi Steve,

Are you sure it's not just your gauge that's faulty?
Triumph temperature-gauges are notoriously inaccurate.

The gauges in both my Spitfire and my Dolomite read way too low. At first I was
worried the thermostates weren't working properly, but after checking everything
worked fine, and I just learned to live with it.

Anyway: an experienced technician can tell if an engine is running too hot by
just feeling the radiator and the hoses. If everything seems to be in good order
I'd stop worrying and just accept you have a high-reading gauge....
