Paul, I've attended many "British Only Car Shows" all
over the USA and Canada and they will have separate
classes for any group with over three related cars!!
If they are to award three prizes, they need at least that
many cars in a class!! The key to this classification is
the pre- registration forms received. That's why they
try to get people to do that, so they may have spaces
available on the field and trophies to cover same.
For the non-registered cars, I've seen them parked
many spaces from their class and usually will not get
many votes!! Some shows have what classes are
available on their registration forms, but usually only
British Shows. Next weekend I will attend the Kansas
City all British show and know that my MK1 Spitfire
will be in with the MK2s and all GT6s. The newer Spits
will be in a class of their own!! I have never attended a
non-British car show since 1988, when the Judges
walked past my car without even looking my way!!
Never again!! The National VTR breaks them down
into smaller Classes, because they normally have
pre-registered cars and know what will be there!!
