I'm pretty sure that oven cleaner will discolour the metal.  You don't wanna
know how I know that.
If you have "Goo-Gone" where you live (We have it here in Canada), I'd
recommend that... Otherwise, maybe brake cleaner; it takes off anything, and
evaporates away.
