I thought it might be of interest to say something here about the
reliability of Triumphs in general.

As most of you know, I just returned from the Great Race-a 3800
mile time/speed/endurance rally for vintage cars. Of all the 100+
cars in the competition, there were only 3 British cars-and boy!
did we all get all the jokes and comments and "teasing"-two MGTD's
and our TR3 "Team Scrappy". Well, of all the 100+ cars in the
running, I am very happy to tell you that the British cars were
among the few that required no work at all! I think the MGs
changed oil and spark plugs on our "day off" in Glenwood Springs-
but we ran synthetic oil and didn't even do that! It was *almost*
pleasing to see that in the hotel parking lots, the cars being
torn apart every night were all the ones that were considered to
be "better" than our LBCs!

Oh, and the TR3-"Team Scrappy" came in second in our division!

So much for crappy British car jokes, eh? ;-D
