Greetings, Fellow Listers,

While the engine shop concerns itself with Frankenspit's ('74) bottom end,
I've begun looking at the top. The head's been done by the shop. I figure
since I'm using a different cam, I should replace the followers. How about
push rods? What are the inspection criteria for them? (The phrase "inspect
for wear" is a bit vague.) I've found specs for the rocker shaft diameter,
and for the rocker arm bores. Obviously the oil passages need to be clean.
What else do I need to check?

I also have a question about the head studs. The parts catalogues I've seen
list 2 different studs, using 8 of one, and 2 of the other. What is the
difference between them? I neglected to keep the 2 separate, so I'm now
trying to atone for my lack of planning.

Got the A-arms and brackets back from the powder coater. Do they look nice!
I'm hoping to get started on suspension assembly this weekend, but my wife has
mentioned something about painting the living room, so I may be delayed. It
really does need it.

TIA, etc.

BillG
