I have finally reached the starting point for the reassembly- The bare frame
has been finally painted with POR-15!

YAAA!

Now the return trip of the frame off project begins. Currently, the entire
body is disassembled and almost completely paint free, with the bonnet and
centre sections repaired, awaiting underneath POR-15ing, and the rear section
awaits the final welding repairs to the B-Posts, and door sill repair panels,
after which it, too shall receive an underneath and floor coating of POR-15.

The tranny was overhauled previously, and I am looking into the engine
itself...

The differential is in the middle of cleaning and overhaul,(all new bearings,
pinion, ring and gears are in good order, new seals and gaskets, paint!) the
rear axles, universals, trunnions have all been R&R'd, and the rear drums
cut.

On the front end, the suspension has been gone over, (all wear items had been
replaced, but never used, by a previous owner) the front brakes converted to
Spitfire Mk2 Disks, and the calipers rebuilt.

Both MCs have been rebuilt, (although I found out afterward that they were new
when installed previously, but, again, never used!) and a deeper Spitfire one
rebuilt for the disk conversion, leaving me with a spare clutch MC. All new
brake lines were acquired from Canley, and will be bent into shape before the
body goes on, then removed till after painting. New rear wheel cylinders
replaced new, old ones..)

The interior kit is allegedly on its way from Canley, along with a few other
items...

Just need to clean a few more items, repaint them, and put them to the side.
Once the rear section welding is completed, just have to do a little body
work- about a week of evenings worth- and off to the paint shop. Upon return
from there, figure three or four evenings to final assembly...

With luck, and a little help from some friends, I should make it to the
Rhinebeck show next month.

I keep trying to update my website, but I prefer to put the time into the car
itself... Though I will send out a notice when I do, as I have lots of pics to
post! The friend I purchased her from has informed me he found the missing
rebuild log from the previous owner, including many notes, and photographs, as
well as receipts... I can't wait to see what all is there!
