A couple of more tips to add to Richard's excellent
transmission swap guide:

1: Before removing the dash support, remove the crash
pad that runs along the bottom edge of the dash.
Otherwise, it can get damaged as you mess with the bolts
that hold the top of the dash support.

2: Don't forget to remove the two screws that hold
the top front corners of the cardboard tunnel cover.
You get at them from the front. If they are missing
(and your tunnel cover is still intact), replace them
when you are done, and you will be pleased by how much
less engine noise you hear with the top up.

3: Remove the passenger seat so you don't drag the tranny
across it.

4: Don't forget to use a jack to hold up the rear of the
engine when the transmission is out!

(Of course, these tips apply to any transmission R+R.)
