The UK and US Ford Focus are the same car - with minor differences to suit
the markets. In the US hatchbacks are far less popular than saloons
('sedans') so it is the saloon that is sold mainly. I just got back from
the states a couple of days ago and had noticed a few Focus' (Foci?) driving
around, all saloons. The only real difference I noticed was the rear
indicator used the same red light as the brakes and the tail-light, as is
common on American cars, rather than a separate orange light like we get in
Europe.

Random trivia fact - The Ford Focus is the first car in History to win both
European and American Car Of The Year awards.

Another pointless trivia - the Ford Mondeo is sold in the US as a Ford
Contour (might also be sold under the Mercury brand as well?), with some
minor styling changes.
