Tim,
Sounds to me most likely that the HT lead has gone. But, it could be any
other part of the ignition system feeding no. 1 cylinder - the spark plug,
or the distributor cap, or either of the connections between.
If you can't tell visually which it is, I'd start by replacing the cheapest
suspect and working my way upwards...
