Just a quick reply as it is off topic...
Lower aspect ratio tires (the second number in the tire size figures, like
185/60) mean that the tires have a shorter sidewall height in relation to the
tread width. the "60" in the above example means that the sidewall height is
60% of the tread width of 185 mm (I THINK it's millimeters anyway...). A
shorter sidewall means there is less "flex" when the tire starts to turn, so
you experience a quicker "turn in" and a little firmer response. There IS a
performance enhancement, but ride quality generally suffers. There is no "free
lunch" after all.
That said, the huge wheels on the fancy SUV's etc, are really just for show.
It's not like those things will really handle that well.
