Aha! This may just be it. (I know, I said that with the master cylinder.)
Here's the deal. I had the car out in the driveway working on the front
suspension on a sunny day. I didn't finish and along came the rain. I
tried to cover the wheel area (stub axle and calipers), but I =know= they
got wet. The car wasn't driven after that so no time to dry before maybe
some corrosion set in.
This is something I will definitely look into tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm off
to see what caliper kits cost.
