My Bugeye had a lowering kit on it when I bought it. I took the spacers out
last month when I replaced the bushings. With the lowering kit in place, I
dragged the 1275 exhaust pipe across EVERY speed bump I had to cross.
Sometimes it was pretty grim, even when slipping clutch and brake for almost
zero forward motion. I don't know this for a fact, but I rather suspect that
it is not a good thing to lift your Bugeye by the exhaust pipe. (While doing
the bushings, I noticed that the motor mounts were showing some real stress,
too. <grin>)

Since I removed the kit, I almost never drag on speed bumps. I would never
have them on a street car.

My two cents'.
