The 1960 inside rear view mirror was 5 1/8" by 2 3/16".  I think the 
thickness was between 1mm and 1/16".  It had rounded corners and was backed 
by simular shaped piece of metal.  These were held together by a "U" shaped 
(cross-section) band that completely surrounded the edge of the glass and 
metal.  Those parts were held by a two part "clamp" that fitted over the 
mirror unit at the center top and bottom and over the ball of the mirror 
stand. The clamp had one screw and nut that held it together.  The stand was 
chrome being flat on the bottom where it attached to the facia. It has a 
stalk at about 60 degrees with a ball end on which the mirror clamp attaches. 
 There is some disagreement over how the stand was held to the facia.  The 
stand has two counter sunk holes for flat head screws.  There are indications 
that the mount on cars delivered without tonneau covers were held in place 
with flat head screws.  An cars delivered with tonneau covers had a 
lift-a-dot stud on the passenger side and a screw on the drivers side.  Both 
of our 1960 cars were delivered with tonneau's and had studs on both sides of 
the mirror mount.  Go figure.
