And now,for those interested, and Ed,
I got my rocker shaft from the breakers, 3 miles from here. I was
right - it was free, but wrong, it has done 37,000 not 30,000

Anyway it is fitted, oil drips from the edge of each rocker bush at
1200 rpm, compared with the Niagra Falls from the old one, so I rekon
it is good and $0.00 dollars well spent!

And, more importantly, Crash is a hero! From the many helpfull, and
the occasional unhelpfull, advice that I got, it was Crash who
correctly identified worn roker shaft bushes.

Hardly any blue smoke at all compared to the pea souper I had before.
(can pea soupers be blue or do they have to be green?)

Strangely it is running more smoothly as well now, particularly at low
revs, picking up better.

I guess I will fit new valves before too long (no, not second hand
ones, Ed)
but for now I just intend to drive it !!

Big Silly Grin!

Guy
