Here's what I think on the subject... Any car I own only has to be cool to
me. If you want to paint it, stripe it, lower it, roll-bar it, add
horsepower, upgrade the brakes, etc. you should feel comfotable in going for
it. Heck - if you want to put in a V8, jack it up and add 4WD, go for that
too. It's not what I would do, but you have my blessings to do it and I'll be
sure to check it out at whatever show I see you at...
Basically, unless you are building it with the idea of turning it for a
profit, I wouldn't care what anybody else thought about color combinations and
originality. The original owners of our cars probably began altering /
upgrading as soon as they got home from the dealer.
If you think it's cool, do it.
If on the other hand, you're just asking for feedback and a general consensus
- make a digital image of your or another interior and then play with the
colors on the computer. That and looking at lots of examples is how I decided
on a stripe theme...
