I sincerely hope that Fiat has greatly improved their quality. I bought a
new Fiat 850 coupe in England in 1968. It was a POS. The metal was thin and
dented if you looked at it hard. The seats broke loose from their tracks and
were re-welded a couple of times until the tracks didn't work anymore. The
paint was so thin in the rain run-off grooves that it started rusting within
6 months. The upholstery and carpets didn't fit well and the seats tore
along the areas where they were stretched over the frames, It had a bent
right rear axle which ate up tires and shocks until I finally discovered it.
The wheel bearings were junk and had to be replaced at around 10K miles. The
front brake rotors were so thin they warped... You get the idea...
There's much, much more... I unloaded the car in Champaign, Illinois two
years later in trade for a new Mercury Capri. Now THERE was a great car!

Cheers!!
