Y'all,
Well, I found a spare 4:2 diff in the archives, looked it over. The teeth on
the spider gears were chunked up pretty good, but other than that, it looked
OK. So, out comes the arc welder and another "Lincoln Locker" is born.
(Lincoln is a brand name of welder, welded diff = locker... get it?).
New rear leafs are good to go, and I think the prototype double bearing rear
hub solution will solve any leak problems for good. Stay tuned for details
if you're seeking an answer to leaking hubs...
The "underground" faction of Team Thicko is looking into some other Sprite
related prototype work. I can't go in to details yet, but this could be a
big deal.
We had a brainstorm the other day at Grattan... remember the way fighter
pilots used to keep track of "kills" on the side of their planes? Well,
we're going to have little stickers for the front fenders of Thicko cars....
little head gaskets, axles, and bent rods. That way, you can show your
battle scars proudly. (I'm gonna have to get a bigger car for all the
stickers...)
Anyway... I'm getting real itchy about getting to ELVF. It should be fun.
