Thickos & Flounder,

Words that come to mind when thinking of T.T. are,
festive,unrehearsed,voluntary,spontanious,comeraderie,non-judgemental,ec
centric, appreciative. Just our type of people!
When Flounder stopped by our site at Gingerman and asked us to visit T.T.
Village, we saw a group of accepting, fun loving people that welcomed us
in. Unfortunately, at that moment we had nothing to share, as we were
unprepared for such a generous group. Through E-mails and a little exposure
we found Team Thicko to also have a great amount of vivacity and deep
concern over fellow racers. So what's my point? We wouldn't associate
ourselves with T.T. if we didn't feel we could freely volunteer something,
and were not able to bring something "to the table" as it were. It's the
potluck (not just food) atmosphere that attracted Southwind to T.T. That,
and the fact that T.T. is not just a VSCDA group, but can carry over to
other sanctioning bodies as well. You better believe, that whether we are
at Mid-Ohio, Gingerman, Summit Point, or anywhere else, we will proudly
wear our off-center, Team Thicko colors next to our own outlandish
Southwind style.

We do not expect, but accept, what other Thicko's have to offer. We should
all do what we can, when we can, IF we can, ("and that's what Christmas is
all about Charlie Brown"). We've also observed that any Thicko member
should be at least somewhat unusual, (who wants to be normal? Even as
racers?). Flounder, any time the music is played or refreshments are
served, it is a plus to the already great atmosphere created by the people.
We should never feel bad if someone is to busy changing an engine or
trying to find a part in town, and unable participate in the music or food.
Just do what we can to help. Someday, maybe I'll break out my trumpet,
Boobie Jo will get out her sax, and Booty Jo will warm up her flute and
join in, (We all play music too!). So yes, it is all greatly appreciated,
and even as newcomers, we see that Thickos should remain unique and try to
avoid
becoming mainstream. That's what makes it what it is and why we look
forward to being a part of the fun. See you all this weekend at Grattan!
