OK youse guys.. Not trying to bounce you off a guard rail by talking about
the Fall Festival while you're all breaking balls to be ready for
Blackhawk..but.
Team Thicko was asked by Squirrelly Shirley to sponsor the enduro. So, in a
brief moment of inspiration, I came up with "THE Thicko Race". "THE"
standing for Tortoise Hare Enduro". What that means is, the enduro will
consist of teams. say a group 2 car with a Group 6, 3 or 8 car. Typically a
slow car and a fast car.
The teams may be drawn randomly, pulled from a hat, or, if anyone's
particularly serious about wanting to win, I can be bribed.
I'm open to ideas as how to score this. One idea is the team with the least
variance from your qualifying times wins. or perhaps, a combination of
things, like the least variance + the greatest number of positions gained
wins. I'm open to nearly all suggestions except those that include a bodily
orifice. :-) Perhaps some other ideas will surface here, so we can include a
bit of team strategy, as the original idea is to put together people from
different race groups that don't normally share tracktime, etc. Remember the
Thicko motto. (no, not tirelss self-promotion. we all know that one.)
"Inclusive, rather than exclusive".
I'll design a logo for the event and every participant will get a sticker.
So let me know what you think. share your clever ideas. and remember, we
have to be able to download the transponder data, and plug it into a
pre-made spreadsheet to figure the winner based on what ever criteria we
come up with.
