Triumph Fans,
My directions seemed to be vague but that did not seem to stop Micheal and
his buddy (oops I missed his name) from joining the group driving to Bourne Tx.
for the San Antonio All British Car Day. The weather was a misty fog and in the
50's (F) for out drive in the hills.
      The caravan consisted of 1 TR4A, 1 TR6, 2 GT6's, 1 Bug Eye, 1 Midget (is
that still a politically correct name), and some big Japanese car that carried
the booze for the Midget. While not exactly top down weather it didn't keep the
Bug Eye and Midget from doing it. As for myself I was glad the GT6 has a lid!
It
was a pretty uneventful trip (300 miles round trip) mechanically dispelling any
rumors that British cars don't run. The only excitement was cresting a hilll
top
and the traffic stopped for a Trail Ride. It seems the cowboys were crossing
the road. So that popped the bubble of a drive in the misty country hills of
England.
The actual show had a small turnout due to the weather. The classes were
pretty much won be the local MG Club doing the participants choice for their
members and not really looking at the other cars in the class not an MG.
(enough
about my feelings on Participants Choice). The TR6 that drove with us did win a
3 place trophy in the 70's Open Class.
Now to get back top my vague directions on where to meet. That should have
been a sign about Michael. It seems that Mike in his Targa Top GT6 does just
fine with marginal directions and won a trophy in the Rally.
As for me I just had a blast leaving the caravan on the way home and
enjoying the winding hills at 65 to 75 mph in the mist listening to Pink Floyd
on the headphones.

Richard,

I have just decided that I will make it - and I just wanted to check up on
the directions again: You wrote go down Mopac South until it turns into 290
- when it hits 71 it forks, and there should be the coffee-shop named
'Jims'? How many cars are going to be there approximately (=how easy is it
to find)?

See you there,

Michael
