I've always wandered too: The recommended tyre pressure for my spit seems
exceedingly low. Is this because the original factory tyres were pieces of
crap that couldn't hold 30 psi on a bet? Or, is there actually some
rationale behind such low pressures? And, is it really horribly dangerous
to keep, say, 32 psi in the existing tyres? What was the brand of original
tyres on a 77 Spitfire anyway, "Lucky Lucas Treadwater specials"?
