Harmonic Balancer?

      This may seem like a stupid question, but what,
on a 76 TR6,  would be considered a harmonic balancer
or damper. The manual says to include the front pully
and damper when balancing the crankshaft. The
machine shop said to bring in all the pistons, rods, flywheel,
and the harmonic balancer?  Huh?  I know what one looks
like on a big american engine, but...  does this mean
the fan on a LBC ?
