Actually, aluminum CAN corrode. I just sold my airplane for scrap because the
wing spars had corroded to the point the mechanic was unwilling to certify it
as airworthy without opening up the wings. Since the cost was about on a par
with the airplane's value, we decided to sell out for what we could get.
Your reason for the admonition is correct though.
