Hey Ed,

Before you start pulling the engine, it would be a good idea to test it
just to see what you have. Since it won't run, there may be serious
problems with it, such as a cracked head or block, burnt valves, etc.
Can anyone tell you if it ran when it was parked ? Or why it was parked
or taken off the road, 10 years ago ? If not, better have a compression
check done, at least, to see what sort of problems you might be up against.
Any experienced mechanic with a compression tester and a hot battery
should be able to do this for you, or you could do it yourself, for that
matter, the compression testers aren't all that expensive.

You might have an engine worth rebuilding, or you might not...better test it.

Best regards,
