Ed,
Buy a running beater car that will get you through the winter. You will
likely be much happier if you consider your Triumph as a hobby rather
than sole transportation. As many folks here will tell you, having a
daily driver Triumph means that they have another car that they can use
for getting parts and beer to work on their cars.
