Kinda makes you wonder why they didn't all use the same one dosn't it? As a
side note for all you GT6 owners that have a failed vaccuum advance/retard
unit. And you know who you are! You can't get that particular vaccuum
mechanism (that I know of) and every one I've seen is ruptured, but what you
can do is use the distributor body (Delco) from an early pre 1500 Spitfire,
and replace the rotor shaft and advance assy with a new one for the six
(still available from TRF). Now you have a Delco six cylinder distributor.
You will now have the vaccuum advance (no retard but who wants that anyway?)
with the neat little "micrometer adjustment" to set timming - plus the
advance will probably still work. Those units never seem to rupture -
