I don't know about the factory O/D equipped models but I put an O/D on my '
71 and it goes 75 MPH at 3000 RPM (in 4th O/D). I' ve heard that the Factory
O/D equipped models have a higher numerical gear ratio rear end which would
give a lower speed at 3000 RPM.
Me thinks that either your speedo or your tach is lying to you. (probably
both)
