Scions, in my role with VTR, I received a message from a fellow enthusiast
who needs asssistance. Can anyone help him (or her - the message had no
name, just an E-mail address). Please keep me in the loop so I can continue
to help. Thanks!

excerpt (from he or she) follows:

>I am also interested in replacing the current radio shack radio with a
positive ground >radio of the period. Do you know of a source and the model
number, manufacture >that would fit, etc.?

You have identified a serious problem. New radios do not come with pos
ground capability ( I tried to locate one in '92) - older ones (from the
period) are tube types and no-one makes tubes anymore. I would suggest that
you send a message to the Triumph list (if you are not familiar with that and
want to know more about it, let me know and I'll fill you in). Maybe someone
on list would have a period radio for sale. What I did was buy a new
negative ground radio and then design a system with an inverter to flip the
polarity to the radio and a gel cell to maintain the radio memory when the
ignition was off. But this was complicated and expensive (probably $125 for
the system - not to include the radio). Another option is to convert the car
to negative gnd. This is relatively easy - but, of course, the car is then
not as it was when new. Come back at me and we can talk about these things
in more depth.

>I am interested in obtaining several photographs of the TR4 in competition
or >advertisements that would be suitable for framing. Do you know of a
source for >good photo's?

Again the Triumph list is probably the place for you to start. I am going to
post the radio and photo parts of this message to the list and we'll see
what happens. Please feel free to come back to me in the meantime. Cheers.
