Thanks for the information about the Spit/GT6 conversion, folks.  Your comments 
really clarified the issue for me, as I knew they would.

One more thing ... regarding my ı74 Spit leaf spring.  Iıve got what seems to 
be a little too much negative camber and sag in my rear end (insert your joke 
HERE), and my LBC guy suggests a leaf spring replacement is in order.  Given 
that the spring is probably the original 23 year-old part, Iım inclined to 
believe him.   There isnıt a lot of clearance between my tires and the rear 
wheel arch (a condition that probably accounts for the way the car ŞbucksŞ when 
making a slow, tight turn), and the inward tilt at the top of the rear wheels 
is pronounced.   But before I dig into a spring replacement job, are there 
other potential causes I ought to rule out first?

And by the way, Doug Mitchell wrote that Şno one uses a radio in a LBC,Ş but I 
gotta say, my car just wouldnıt be the same w/out its CD player and Infinityıs 
in the rear well!
