I know this may NOT apply to all, but in view of SB 22 in California, there may

The following is taken from the August 1997 issue of the MOWOG News
and may be of interest to Connecticut owners of vehicles that are 25
     years old or older:

     Public Act No. 97-82

AN ACT EXEMPTING ANTIQUE, RARE OR SPECIAL INTEREST MOTOR VEHICLES FROM
     EMISSIONS INSPECTION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
     Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subsection (c) of section 14-164c of the general statutes
is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof:

     (c) The commissioner shall adopt regulations in accordance with
chapter 54 to implement the provisions of this section. Such
regulations shall include periodic emissions inspection ......for all
motor vehicles registered in this state except: (10) ANTIQUE, RARE OR
SPECIAL INTEREST MOTOR VEHICLES AS DEFINED IN SECTION 14-1.

Summary: This bill exempts antique, rare, and special interest motor
vehicles from annual emissions inspections. These are vehicles 25 or
more years old, being preserved because of historic interest, which
are not altered nor modified from the original manufacturer's
     specifications.

The act was approved on May 29, 1997 and is now in effect.
