I put a set of poly bushings on my '72 Spitfire this year. I did the front and rear suspension first, as well as added Spax shocks all around. It is great!! I then did the diff mounts in poly as well as new u-joints and replaced the rubber pads in the transverse leaf spring. You are absolutely right about the increased vibration transmitted from the drive train to the frames/body, and I any further improvement in handling.
