GT6 engine - to be or not to be 2.0 or 2.5?

     That is the question...

As mentioned in my other posting of today, I am currently excited as I
have finally removed the body from the chassis of my Spitfire. This
evening another work colleague will be coming round to pick up my GT6
Mk 3 engine to rebuild it for me. I originally wanted to do as much
as I could of the rebuild myself, but as time moves on I just want to
     drive it again.

My dilemma now is whether to keep it as a 2 litre or change the crank
and pistons (which probably need replacing anyway) and have a 2.5 Is
this really all that is required??

My other question is about how to get the petrol in - I was given a
complete petrol injection system from a Triumph 2500 (unknown year) a
short time ago. Will the petrol metering unit, distributor, manifold,
air filters etc fit straight onto a GT6 engine and allow the bonnet to
close? What type of carbs should I consider if not? What other
problems might I experience if I move away from the standard set-up?

I ultimately want an everyday car (although for summer use only) with
a decent amount of power / torque that is not going to be blown away
by a modern high powered sports coupe (like I currently drive).

Any thoughts on the subject gratefully received.

     Thanks

     Pat
