You may laugh, but I'm damned serious about it. It looks like it'd fit
between the frame rails, and under the bonnet. An old girlfriend of
mine had one, an '87 Starion ESIR Turbo, that was plenty fast and
smooth, with a nice 5 speed as well. I'm thinking I'll get an car
that's been wrecked from the doors back, yank out the motor and trans,
all of the engine management stuff, choice bits of the interior like the
leather seats and stereo... It's a nice motor, a 2.6 intercooled turbo
four cylinder, it's got plenty of grunt because of the relatively large
displacement, and once it comes on boost it revs hard and fast. On a
pre-smog car you could yank off the catalytic converter and make it
breathe better. An easy 200-225 HP with very little work.
I'm absolutely going to combine the car's badges to read "Spitsubishi".
Wish I could figure out a cool vanity plate abbreviation. SPTSUBSHI is
probably too long, huh? :^)
