Does anyone have recommendations on how to polish magnesium wheels
(British Cosmic brand)? I took a couple of wheel cleaners to them and
got ride of a lot of the brake residue but there is still some debris
embedded in the wheels. I was thinking about a buffer attachment for a
drill and something like a chrome polish or the like to clean them up.
They've been repainted and this would just be the finishing touch.

P.S. I posted a little while in my search a pair of "Cosmic" mags and
got a couple of leads. I found a set from a CA used parts shop but the
price was outrageous. "They are rare wheels" I was told and that
justified the price. Somebody on the list mentioned the wheels being
optional equipment for Lotus Elans. So I picked up a copy of Hemming
Motor News and hunted down wheel shop listed under Lotus. I made
contact with him and he got me setup with a very clean pair of 30 year
old wheels. The (2) wheels, (4) center caps with clips and shipping
were half the price of what the CA dealer wanted. The short of it is
that for anybody looking for wheels check this place out.
