How extensive is the rust? Has it gotten into the floors yet.....if not then
you could simply replace the rusted section of the sill (provided it isn't too
complicated to duplicate). Once you cut out the rusted section you'll have a
better idea of how extensive it is.
Turn the body over ( if it's off the car) or get underneath and cut out all
the affected area with a saw or grinding wheel and weld a patch over
it.....you won't see it anyway and it will be structurally sound.
If it's more extensive, you'll have to remove the sill entirely by carefully
cutting back to unaffected areas where the new weld beads will not be noticed
after grinding. The sill section lives under the carpet anyway.....so you're
pretty safe.
Let me know how you make out.......sills were $90 on sale and the rockers were
