Hello everyone,
I left Bill & Linda Sohl's place at Budd Lake, NJ. and drove down to
Fred Thomas in Stafford, Virginia...I kept to soft-top in the down
position all the way, notwithstanding the rain at Baltimore and
Washington, just kept on motoring at 65-70 mph, and it doesn't come
in... Got some strange looks on the interstate though...driving in
heavy rain hood down in short sleeved tee-shirt, but hey who cares about
what drivers of moderns may think! anyhow, the hood/bonnet on the
TR6 is still stuck firmly down...(thanks Andy ;->), and the car seems to
be losing a very little water when I stop with a hot engine,so I try not
to stop, and the temperature gauge is OK, it sits firmly in the
centre/center of the dial...the engine sounds a little on the fluffy
side, but I think that's wear in the distributor cap and rotor arm or
carb adjustment, never mind, at 70 mph in top gear it doesn't notice...I
have now covered 2583 miles and am with Tom & Linda Long in Blacksburg,
Virginia, which is, I have discovered, a very beautiful State, I AM
impressed...so today, the final leg, back to Alcoa, Tennessee to give
Dan Masters back what remains of his once splendid TR6! I tried Dan, I
really tried, but the state of the Interstates appears to be fairly poor
in the 'construction' season...more later, from your Triumph Travelling
correspondent.Leon F Guyot.
